“The second is this:  ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’  There is no other commandment greater than these.” -Mark 12:31

Do you treat our neighbors (your team members) the way you treat yourself?  Would you ever say the things you say to yourself outloud to your team members?

Loving others starts with loving ourselves.  It is going to be hard if you are trying to or wanting to give love to your team members, but you can’t love yourself.

So what is one thing that you can do to love yourself?  What does it look like to love yourself?

Count your wins, even the little ones.  The little ones add up to the big ones, and once you start counting your wins, you’ll realize you have more wins than you can count.

The reason you should count your wins, why you should love yourself, is because if you tell yourself that what you’re doing is not enough, that is the lens you’re going to talk to your team through.  Then you will tell them that they are not doing enough.

So start writing down and recognizing 2-3 wins you had each week and ask yourself, “What did you do as a leader to create that success?”  This will help you love yourself, which will lead to you loving your team member as well as your neighbor.
